ISLAMABAD: Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, a former secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), has stated that the returning officers had a reason to reject the nomination papers of Imran Khan, founder of the PTI, and other candidates.
While commenting on the latest news on the Express-News show “Center Stage,” Dilshad stressed that there were valid reasons for rejecting the nomination papers of PTI leaders and that the decision was not random.
He made it clear that Imran Khan’s conviction in the Toshakhana case was the reason his nomination papers were rejected, and he continued by saying that, given the current state of affairs, Khan cannot run for office so long as the conviction is on the books.
