The KP government has called Imran’s security detail back from his residence in Lahore.

Imran Khan’s security detail in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) was recalled by the interim Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) administration on Friday.
After the previous prime minister was attacked in Wazirabad, 50 police officers from K-P were sent to Punjab to protect the PTI leader.
According to sources, the provincial administration of Punjab wrote to the K-P government on January 24 requesting that the security be removed following the appointment of the caretaker chief minister on January 22.
Fawad Chaudhry is placed on a 14-day judicial hold by the court.
In an interview with the media, PTI leader Shibli Faraz confirmed the reports and claimed to have received a letter from the Punjab government rescinding Imran Khan’s security.
As the police had previously written a letter informing him of threats against his life, Faraz continued by saying that the former premier’s security is “his right” and that if “something happens to Imran, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and puppet government will be responsible.”
On November 3, 2022, while leading his “Haqeeqi Azadi” march toward Islamabad, the ousted PM was shot multiple times in Wazirabad.
The shooting left one person dead and injured several people close to the PTI chairman, including Faisal Javaid, Imran Ismail, Ahmad Chattha, and Imran Yousaf.
After the Special Branch issued a security alert, security was increased outside the PTI leader’s residence in Zaman Park and a security wall was built outside Imran Khan’s residence in Lahore due to his concerns about his security.
In order to ensure safety, checkpoints were also put in place at Zaman Park’s entrance and exit points, and more security cameras were also installed.
Additionally, a special desk was set up to keep track of guests who came to Imran’s house. Authorities also stationed female police officers to conduct entry-point inspections.
A special squad of Elite Police Commandoes from K-P reportedly took over control of the innermost security cordon at Imran’s residence in addition to the deployment of large contingents of Punjab Police.
