In the Kohlu operation, nine BLA militants were killed by gunfire.
During the operation, the security forces managed to capture three terrorists who were already injured, according to the ISPR.
ISLAMABAD: The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) against the Baloch Republican Army (BLA) in Balochistan’s Kohlu on Saturday, the military said. The operation resulted in the deaths of nine terrorists and the arrest of three others who were injured in the attack.
Since the explosion in Kohlu Bazar on September 30, which resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to 19, intelligence agencies have reportedly been on the lookout for the terrorists, as reported by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
It was reported that terrorists affiliated with the BLA were responsible for kidnapping people in the area for the purpose of demanding a ransom, extortion, and attacks on members of the security forces.
In addition, according to the ISPR, the terrorists were responsible for targeting engineers and labourers who were working on development projects in the province. Terrorists were making preparations to launch assaults in Kohlu, Kahan, and Mawand at this time.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation began at six in the morning and was followed by a fierce exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists who were surrounded by the security forces.
In addition, a search operation conducted by the security forces is currently taking place in the region, it was stated.
The Inter-Battalion Operation (IBO) that was launched on November 18 to clear a hideout of terrorists linked with firing incidents on security forces and civilians as well as planting of improvised explosive devices on M-8 in Balochistan reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least two terrorists, according to the ISPR.
It was stated in a statement that as a result of ongoing intelligence gathering, surveillance, and reconnaissance of the region, a location of the terrorists was identified, and security forces were “heli inserted” in the general area of Balor, Hoshab.
During the process of establishing positions by security forces, two terrorists opened fire on the troops from a nearby building.
During an IBO that took place in the general vicinity of Kaman Pass, close to Shahrig in Balochistan, a month ago, two soldiers chose the path of martyrdom, while four terrorists were gunned down and killed.
According to the ISPR, the security forces established blocking positions, which led to an exchange of fire between terrorists and the soldiers. The ISPR reports that the exchange of fire resulted in the soldiers’ deaths as martyrs.
