ISLAMABAD:
On August 7, pink buses specifically designed for women will begin operating on the roads of the federal capital, according to the Ministry of Education.
The pink buses have the slogan “Na Dar, Na Rukawat” printed on them, which means “No Fear, No Obstacle.” Their goal is to give women and female students a safe and convenient way to get around. By connecting rural areas to urban centers and educational institutions throughout Islamabad, this initiative ensures optimal travel and accessibility.
Saba Faisal, principal of ICG Islamabad, praised the initiative and emphasized its significance for women’s convenience. She emphasized that the pink bus service would safely transport working women, teachers, and girls from rural areas to urban centers. According to Faisal, the initiative’s essence is beautifully captured by the slogan “No Fear, No Barrier.”
The Prime Minister has announced that the Ministry of Education and the federal government will cover all project costs. Zulfiqar Ali Sameen, Deputy Secretary of the MoU, claims that the introduction of the free pink bus service aims to make use of some buses that were either not used or had minor issues in some schools.
