ISLAMABAD: Thirteen political parties took a hit on Friday when the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) removed them from its registry of registered entities for failing to hold the legally required elections within their ranks.
Thirteen political parties had their registrations canceled by the ECP in a reserved judgment that was issued on Friday; two, Jamiat Ulema e Pakistan (JUP) and Pakistan Muslim League Jinnah, were allowed to participate in the forthcoming elections.As part of this decision, the ECP voiced its displeasure with the political parties’ casual attitude towards holding intra-party elections.
Pakistan Aman Party, Pakistan Brabri Party, Pakistan Quomi Yekjehti Party, Sunni Tehreek, Nizam e Mustafa Party, Sab Ka Pakistan, National Peace Council Party, Pakistan National Muslim League, All Pakistan Minority Alliance, All Pakistan Tehreek, Awami Party Pakistan, Bahawalpur National Awami Party, Sab Ka Pakistan, and Pakistan National Muslim League were among the delisted political parties.
