Old is the new new, especially when it comes to any kind of skincare or beauty packaging. Our focus this week is beauty specifically where we see gorgeous compacts, brushes and lipsticks that even Marilyn Monroe or Hedy Lamar would swoon over.
Here are some of our favourites:
Olivia Palermo Beauty: That watch band casing in gold gives it a classic, elegant vintage feel without making it look tacky. Moreover, it’s more like a keepsake even after it’s finished.
Jill Stuart: They’re not unheard of – far from it and with a touch of glamour, they’re designed to bring back the disco, retro hippie feel without being too…. hip and more of a fresh appeal to new age, old fashioned beauty produucts.
Benefit Cosmetics: They blew up when not only did their packaging catch everyone’s eye, but with a price point to compete with matching a quality product. The vintage images bring you back to a time you never lived in, but kind of know – you know?
Guerlain: An age old favourite – even the name sounds like a classic (that’s because it is!) The easy flair in how the package oozes sophistication is definitely inimitable.
Louboutin: A name synonymous with a red sole and a pair of shoes any girl would kill for. With every shoe collection, there is a beauty collection that needs to land up on our dresser, too.
Flower Knows x Pretty Rock: This was created by two popular cosplayers, Hana and Baozi. If you are familiar with Anime or Cosplay – both who are pretty well-known both in China and internationally, launched an uber cool make up collection that had us staring at the screen for a good 20 minutes.
