Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to the SCO approach.
The Minister of Law Delivers a Remark at the 9th Meeting of Ministers of Justice.
ISLAMABAD:
Azam Nazeer Tarar, the federal minister for law and justice, stated on Friday that Pakistan remained dedicated to preserving the goals of the SCO’s growth policy.
The minister made the comments while participating in the SCO’s 9th virtual Ministers of Justice meeting.
He asserted that the SCO represented the aspirations of the member nations to establish successful and long-lasting alliances for advancing shared ideals, interests, and opportunities.
He said that the SCO’s goals and the government of Pakistan’s emphasis on peace, stability, and growth in its foreign policy were perfectly compatible.
The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding the common goals, which includes actively fostering international cooperation in the area of law and justice.
He asserted that Pakistan would maintain its collaboration on forensic activities, legal services, and supremacy of rule of law in order to further the objectives of this illustrious forum and that SCO is also a vibrant platform for establishing relationships with regional partners.
According to him, Pakistan believes that unprecedented interconnectedness and improved cooperation will characterise the future of our area and the entire world.

According to the minister, it is a difficult challenge that floods and COVID occur at the same time. Many areas of the world, particularly those in the SCO region, have been dealing with this dual threat of severe flooding and the pandemic since the beginning of 2020.
Covid and the current flooding have had significant negative effects on Pakistan. This year’s unusually high monsoon rains in Pakistan affected almost 33 million people, including roughly 16 million children, and destroyed homes, crops, and vital infrastructure like roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, and public health institutions.
He argued that in order to effectively address the problems brought on by the pandemic and environmental issues, the SCO member nations must build alliances, update their environmental legislative systems, and develop coordinated measures.
The cornerstone of this strategy must be consistent education and communication, especially among those who use natural resources, on the regulations that are necessary and put in place to ensure their successful implementation and observance.
As forensic scientists examine and analyse evidence from crime scenes and other locations to produce objective findings that could aid in the investigation and prosecution of criminals or clear an innocent person of suspicion, he claimed that forensic science had grown to be a crucial component of the criminal justice system.
He stated that Pakistan looked forward to working with other SCO Member States to advance and strengthen the Organization’s legal system, and that the growth of the legal systems, particularly legal education, was also a crucial factor.
In line with this, Pakistan was actively taking part in the Expert Working Groups’ efforts on forensic investigations and legal services, including the draught SCO Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil Cases.
He claimed that respect for the law has grown during the previous ten years.
Pakistan is also committed to implementing a number of measures to promote regional and bilateral cooperation, increase interaction with other SCO Member States, and develop mutually beneficial relationships in order to realise the goals of the SCO Development Strategy through 2025.
