Parisian catwalk aims to demonstrate that beauty knows no age.
“Another look at old age” fashion display encourages a more accepting perspective on aging.

Model Daisy, 90 years old, gets ready backstage before presenting creations by fashion school students of LISAA (L’Institut Superieur des Arts Appliques) as part of a fashion show named “Another look at old age” organised by the Petits Freres des Pauvres Association, to promote a more inclusive stance on age, in Paris, France, October 27, 2022.

PARIS: To encourage a more accepting attitude toward age, senior models and fashion students walked a unique fashion show on Thursday evening in Paris while donning white, edgy clothes.

Daisy Salmon, 90, stated, “To live this at my age, it really moves me,” and she expressed her happiness to be there and interact with children. I’ll be thinking about this for a while.

Charity The intergenerational display was organized by Les Petits Freres des Pauvres (little brothers of the Poor) in partnership with LISAA Mode Paris, whose students developed the clothing or walked next to Salmon and other models to combat ageist viewpoints.

Christian Gonzalez, a 21-year-old, questioned, “Why not elderly people?” In our society, we forget about them far too often.

The charity’s intention with the exhibition is to draw attention to the need for greater age diversity in fashion as part of a larger effort to spread awareness of the disconnect between the realities of the elderly and social stereotypes that can result in their isolation.
