ISLAMABAD — On Wednesday, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) made the announcement that it would partially shift its international flight operation from the airport in Lahore to the airport in Islamabad due to low visibility at night in Lahore as a result of heavy fog and smog in the provincial capital of Punjab.

“Starting Wednesday night, all international flights that were supposed to run to/from Lahore between the hours of 10 p.m. and 11 a.m. will instead operate out of Islamabad instead,” a spokesperson for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) named Abdullah Hafeez Khan stated in a statement.

He elucidated that the arrangements of moving the flight operation had been made temporarily in order to avoid the discomfort of a “prolonged delay” to those who were travelling.

He went on to say that the flight-shifting arrangement would be switched around as soon as the hazy circumstances in Lahore improved.

He suggested that the customers acquire up-to-date information regarding their flights by calling the Pakistan International Airlines call centre at (021) 111 786 786.

In addition, the spokesperson asked the passengers to register their proper cellphone numbers at the time of ticket purchase so that they may be texted any information regarding a change in the flight itinerary. This would allow the passengers to receive the information in a timely manner.
