The Prime Minister Shehbaz’regrets’ the inconvenience caused by the power outage and requests an investigation.
The Prime Minister has offered his “sincere regrets” for the inconveniences that have been caused to the public.

The statewide power outage that left Pakistan in total darkness on Monday and is still having an impact in some sections of the country was investigated by the prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, on Tuesday.

The premier apologised “sincerely” for the difficulty caused by the malfunction by posting on his official Twitter account.

“On my direction, an investigation is being conducted to ascertain the causes of the power outage. It will be decided who is accountable, “He declared.

The largest electrical outage to hit the country in months occurred on Monday as a result of a huge failure in the national grid, halting life and exposing the nation’s shoddy infrastructure.

Around 7:00 am local time, the concerned authorities started turning on the electricity for millions of individuals who had been without it for a long time.

Power Minister Engineer Khurram Dastgir tweeted that power had begun to be restored nationwide as darkness fell and houses were left in the dark and without electricity.

“We have experienced certain obstacles, but we will overcome these obstacles and restore the power,” Dastgir had earlier told reporters.

The minister had claimed that the outage was caused by a voltage surge. It is the second significant grid breakdown in three months and adds to the virtually daily blackouts that Pakistan’s 220 million people experience.
