The province is predicted to see monsoon rains from today through August 12th, according to a warning from the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
PUNJAB IS EXPECTING FURTHER RAIN STARTING TODAY, AND THE PDMA IS WARNING OF URBAN FLOODING.A PDMA representative stated that rain and thunderstorms are expected in a number of districts in southern Punjab, including as Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, and Gujrat Divisions.
The relevant provincial administrations have been instructed by the PDMA to maintain a state of high alertness due to the predicted weather conditions.
All relevant departments, including commissioners, deputy commissioners, WASA, the irrigation department, Rescue 1122, and civil defense, have been directed to complete preventive measures, especially in view of the possibility of urban floods, according to PDMA Director General Irfan Khatia.
In order to maintain safety, the public has been asked to abide by government directives, and the PDMA control room is continuously keeping an eye on the situation.
It is recommended that people stay in safe places during thunderstorms, especially away from structures that are old, electric poles, and regions where lightning is likely to occur.
