Britain — The United Kingdom completed a week of pomp and circumstance to commemorate the passing of its longest-reigning monarch as thousands of mourners lined up all night long to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II in Edinburgh, Scotland.
On Tuesday evening, the queen’s casket arrived at Buckingham Palace in London. More than a day prior, a queue of people waiting to say goodbye to the queen when she lies in state at Parliament later this week started building there.
Sinn Fein members visited the monarch and attended the memorial services for a queen whose authority they wanted to overthrow, showing how far the region has progressed since the “troubles” peaked. Sinn Fein is an Irish nationalist organization with historical ties to the Irish Republican Army.
