It is up to us, he says, to live in peace with one another or to argue with one another and waste resources.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif requested on Monday that India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi hold real and serious negotiations to settle the pressing concerns, particularly Kashmir.

In an interview with Al Arabiya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “My message to the Indian leadership and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is that let us get down at the table and have meaningful and sincere negotiations to tackle our burning concerns like Kashmir.”

He added that India had stolen any semblance of the autonomy granted to the Kashmiris in accordance with Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and that egregious human rights violations were occurring every day in Kashmir.

The independence was taken away in August 2019. He said that minorities in India were being oppressed. “This must end so that word can spread throughout the world that India is prepared for dialogue,”

According to Shehbaz, Pakistan and India are neighbours and must coexist.

“It is up to us whether we coexist quietly and advance or fight and squander time and money. Our three wars with India have only increased the suffering, destitution, and unemployment among the populace. We’ve learned our lesson, and as long as we can solve our actual issues, we want to live in peace.

“That is the message I want to convey Prime Minister Modi,” he continued. “We want to reduce poverty, establish wealth, provide education and health facilities and employment to our people and not squander our money on bombs and ammunition.

He said, “God forbid a conflict breaks out, we are nuclear powers, armed to the teeth, and who will live to tell what occurred.”

He added that he will hold talks with the Indian leadership with the sincerity of purpose and suggested that the leadership of the United Arab Emirates might play a significant role in bringing India and Pakistan together.

He claimed that Saudi Arabia was a kind and fraternal nation where they had long-standing, exceptional brotherly relations.

He noted that millions of Muslims had cordial ties with Saudi Arabia and were travelling to Makkah and Madinah before Pakistan was created and split off from India.

Millions of Pakistanis, according to the PM, consider the UAE to be a second home, and he described his successful tour there in his capacity as prime minister.

He claimed that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed was a devoted brother who supported Pakistan greatly and wanted the people of Pakistan to advance and succeed. Pakistan was also a dear friend of Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan’s, and Pakistan was in his soul.

“The leaders of Pakistan and the Gulf nations have decided to work together in the areas of trade and culture, promote Islam as a religion of peace, and abhor all forms of terrorism. As strategic partners, we are cooperating.

According to the prime minister, Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf states, who are dependable and trustworthy friends, did not provide Pakistan with the tangible and significant support that they did.

He claimed that Pakistan’s people were strong and brave, and that through fostering trade and investment, they would be able to stand on their own two feet.

In response to a question, he said that coexistence was essential for the survival of the world and that the situation in Eastern Europe had devastated it by driving up commodities costs.
