SR: I would define my design aesthetic as a blend of contemporary elegance with a touch of timeless appeal. I strive to create pieces that are both classic and unique, and incorporate gemstones. My designs often emphasise clean lines, balanced proportions, and a sense of understated luxury.
For you as a designer, is less more, or are you someone who loves going all out and over the top?
SR: As a designer, I appreciate both minimalistic simplicity and extravagant opulence. I believe in the power of restraint, where every element is purposefully chosen and has significance. However, I also enjoy creating statement pieces that push boundaries and make a bold impact. It ultimately depends on the vision and concept behind each design.
Who has thus far been your most favourite person to bejewel and why?
SR: It’s challenging to choose just one favourite person to bejewel, as I have had the privilege of working with numerous incredible individuals. However, if I were to pick one, it would be an inspiring woman who embodies grace, strength, and a unique sense of style. Being able to create jewellery that complements her personality and enhances her beauty would be an absolute delight.
If there is one person who you would love to see one day wear your jewellery, who would it be and why?
SR: If there is one person I would love to see wear my jewellery, it would be a cultural icon or a visionary artist who appreciates the intricacy and artistry of jewellery design. Seeing them adorn my creations would be a testament to the craftsmanship and creativity that goes into each piece.
