TASHKENT: On Thursday, caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar met with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. During the meeting, they talked about working together and problems in the region, such as the humanitarian situation in Gaza and Indian crimes in IIOJK.
There was a meeting going on at the same time as the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
The two leaders talked about how things were going in their relationship, especially in trade, defense, and energy.
Prime Minister Kakar was happy to hear that Azerbaijan Airline (AZAL) would be starting direct flights between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. He said it would help people get to know each other better and boost business and tourists between the two countries.
Prime Minister Kakar and President Aliyev talked about problems they both face, like Islamophobia and climate change, as well as the important role of ECO in promoting cooperation and prosperity in the area.
Global and regional events were also talked about, such as the terrible humanitarian situation in Gaza and the ongoing crimes committed by India in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
Prime Minister Kakar said that Pakistan will always back Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, especially when it comes to Karabagh.
Later, the prime minister wrote on social media site X that trade, defense, and energy ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan were growing, pointing to his “constructive” conversation with the president.
He thought that the start of direct flights by AZAL would improve connections between the two countries.
“Me and you work together to solve global problems like climate change and Islamophobia,” he wrote on X.
At the same time, the prime minister got back to Islamabad after a two-day business trip to Uzbekistan.
