There is no risk of default for the country, according to Ahsan Iqbal.
In order to hasten the transition to an economy driven mostly by exports, the Minister urges the public and private sectors to embrace export-oriented policies.
ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, the Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, dispelled rumours related to the country’s potential default risks and called for the adoption of export-oriented policies for both the public and private sectors in order to accelerate export-led growth.
These comments were given while he was presiding over a roundtable discussion with the title Conducive Business Environment.
Representatives from key ministries, chambers of business, and other important stakeholders were in attendance at the meeting.
“A particular political party is spreading the myths about the country’s default for political aims,” the minister added, “however, Pakistan has successfully pulled out of economic difficulties after taking tough decisions.”
