KARACHI: The Aga Khan University (AKU) and AIM Consulting took a giant leap forward in healthcare technology advancement by hosting Pakistan’s first Health-Tech Summit.
Distinguished dignitaries such as Caretaker Sindh Health Minister Saad Khalid Niaz, Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, Caretaker Sindh Governor Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, and Global Chief Information Officer of AKU Shaukat Ali Khan emphasized the importance of the summit.
At the conference, national hero Lt Gen Nigar Johar Khan also shared her thoughts and opinions.

Shaukat Ali Khan, in his speech, recommended three important measures to the prime minister, all of which were quickly approved.
The first step is to form a technology council with the goal of guiding Pakistan’s technical development; this council will include both domestic and foreign professionals.
The second program’s secondary objective is to establish a think tank with the express purpose of attracting and maintaining a national pool of exceptionally qualified individuals.
Thirdly, all public hospitals will be required to adopt an EHR system, which will facilitate the sharing of patient information and the maintenance of treatment continuity.
The summit’s results, which are sure to shake up Pakistan’s healthcare system, show that the country is finally getting around to adopting new technologies and encouraging creativity in medical treatment.
