KARACHI: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari promised on Wednesday to continue the “unfinished mission” of the party’s founder, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and its former chairperson, Benazir Bhutto. He said that the party’s goal is to build a prosperous Pakistan where everyone’s rights are respected.
“PPP is not just a party but a movement inspired by its founding chairman Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and chairperson Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,” the PPP chairman was quoted as saying by Bilawal House Media Cell Karachi on the eve of the party’s 56th foundation day.
On Thursday (today), the party’s founding day will be marked. Bilawal said he was determined to finish the job left unfinished by the party leadership. He wants to build a modern Pakistan where everyone’s rights are respected.
He praised Benazir Bhutto and said that she had fought hard for people’s basic rights against dictatorship and terrorism.
On a separate note, PPP President Asif Ali Zardari said that the party would continue to work toward its goal of “roti, kapra aur makan,” which means “food, clothing, and shelter.” The head of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) said in a statement that they were determined to build a society that was progressive, enlightened, equal, and fair. They pointed out that both Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto gave their lives for this cause.
He promised to make Pakistan the place that Benazir Bhutto had dreamed of, one that was free from “exploitation.” His words were inspiring, and he called the jiyalas who gave their lives to restore freedom the heroes of the country. He also said, “The party workers are our most valuable asset.”
Later, Bilawal and Zardari went to Quetta to speak at a public event that was set to happen today, Thursday, which is PPP’s foundation day. They were greeted by Balochistan PPP figures like Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Rozi Khan Kakar, Sanaullah Zehri, Abdul Qadir Baloch, and others. Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Saleem Mandviwalla, Sharjeel Memon, and other people were with both leaders.
