ISLAMABAD: The caretaker government has decided to provide a Ramazan relief package at the utility stores, wherein 19 basic commodities would be supplied at subsidized rates, in order to aid the public.
Express News reports that the basic food products that will be covered by the subsidy are as follows: rice, pulses, dates, beans (besan), milk, spices, sugar, ghee, cooking oil, and rice.
The Ministry of Industries and Production will provide the Ramazan package.
The relief package would only be available to households registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and whose poverty index score is PMT-60 or less.
Authorities asked deserving families who were not enrolled with BISP to get in touch with their local BISP offices in order to be considered for enrollment.
Apart from the intended subsidies, regular consumers will also be eligible for additional special discounts.
