The municipal chief Sael Kanaan told Anadolu that the settlers are attempting to gain control of huge tracts of land in Burqa town, which is located close to Al-Bireh.

According to him, the new outpost was constructed on land that belonged to Palestinians.

“Settlers, with the support of the Israeli army, already control approximately one thousand dunums, which is equivalent to one thousand square meters, of land in the town,” he continued.

The Israeli news outlet Kanaan claims that there are already five outposts located within the town.

According to estimates, there are over 700,000 Israeli settlers living in approximately 300 illegal settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem that are under Israeli occupation.

According to international law, any and all Jewish settlements that are located within the occupied territory are deemed to be unlawful.

The West Bank has been experiencing a high level of tension ever since Israel began a military onslaught against the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death of a certain number of people.

During this time period, Israeli forces have been responsible for the deaths of at least 380 Palestinians and the injuries of 4,200 others, as reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry.
