According to reports within the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Muhammad Duadzai, the ’emir’ of the banned Jamaatul Ahrar (JuA) in Karachi, was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Afghanistan on Friday.

Sharana, the capital of Paktika province, is where the chief was reportedly killed.
Pindiali Tehsil is located in the Mohmand District of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), which is where the terrorist leader hailed from.
A prior leader of the JuA appointed him emir of Karachi few years ago.
Pakistani authorities were looking for the dreaded commander after receiving reports of his involvement in a number of attacks, extortion, and targeted assassinations.
During the final years of Ashraf Ghani’s rule in Afghanistan, two of Duadzai’s brothers, Mian Jaffar and Qari Qadim, were murdered in combat operations by US and NATO forces.
According to these same sources, Kunar and Nuristan provinces are the strongholds of the JuA, whereas Paktika province is one of the TTP’s strongholds.
Disagreements arose between the two outlawed groups after the attacks in Zhob, which led to the removal of Dost Muhammad alias Asad Afridi as the commander of DI Khan for his approval of the attacks.
Following the death of TTP founder Omar Khalid Khorasani in a mysterious blast in eastern Afghanistan in August 2022, the JuA, a former splinter group that merged back with the TTP in August 2020, reportedly split off once again, according to sources speaking to The Express Tribune.
