The Indian woman who contracted a court marriage on Tuesday with a man from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and said she came to Pakistan of her “own free will” to marry and live with him made the announcement in the UPPER DIR.

Anju, 35, from Delhi, India, is said to have traveled to the country just a few days ago to be with her 25-year-old sweetheart, Nasrullah, from the beautiful region of Upper Dir.

Reportedly changing her name from Anju to Fatima after converting to Islam before the wedding.

Their online romance eventually evolved into real life, and she risked going to Pakistan to be with him.

Earlier in the day, the woman released a brief statement asking the Indian media to respect her family’s privacy.

Anju previously stated that her feelings for Nasrullah were mutual, and that their Facebook friendship had developed into true love. Meanwhile, authorities have reportedly begun looking into reports of friendly relations between Anju and Nasrullah.

Today, Anju added another layer of explanation, saying, “I have come on a legal visa, I have been trying for three years.” Nasrullah and his family have treated me with more respect than I could have hoped for, and I feel completely at ease and content here. The Indian press should leave my family alone; I’ll be home soon.

When questioned by Express News, Nasrullah stated, “I had a ceremony with Anju and I helped in legal proceedings to bring her to Pakistan, I had a conversation with Anju’s mother and Anju also wanted her to come to Pakistan.” To facilitate easy travel between their respective nations, he also showed enthusiasm to “legalize” their marriage.

As he continued, “I have not placed any pressure on Anju,” he clarified, “she said herself that she wanted to learn more about Islam.”

According to Nasrullah, Anju’s employer sponsored her 30-day visa.
