On Saturday, President Dr. Arif Alvi posted a photo to Twitter in which he and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman are smiling broadly at the camera.

The president said the photo represented the close friendship shared by Pakistanis and Saudis.
As President Alvi tweeted, “No better expression of the kinship than the beaming and affectionate smile on the faces of two brothers.”
He emphasised the solidity of the bilateral relationship by pointing out the long history of ties between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The primary purpose of President Alvi’s trip to Saudi Arabia was to take part in the Hajj rituals.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud hosted his annual event at the Royal Court in Mina Palace. Heads of delegations and offices of pilgrims affairs who undertook Hajj this year, as well as presidents and prime ministers, senior Islamic authorities, and guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, attended the ceremony.
While Alvi is away for Hajj, Sanjrani is acting president.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke with various heads of state, including President Alvi, at the event. Some of the personalities the Crown Prince met with included the king of Malaysia (Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah), the president of Senegal (Macky Sall), the president of Bangladesh (Mohammad Shahabuddin), and others.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have strong ties and mutual respect, and their president, Alvi, and the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, had a cordial and respectful conversation. The exchange exemplifies the deep affinity and camaraderie shared by the two countries outside the bounds of diplomatic procedure.
Respect, cooperation, and similar ideals have been the cornerstones of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia’s enduring partnership. The two nations have always stood together on critical regional and global concerns. The interpersonal links, cultural commonalities, and religious ties between the two nations serve to further solidify the bond between them.
