COAS promises no forgiveness for the vandals and rioters of May 9.
ISPR reports that General Asim went to the military base of Jinnah House in Lahore.

According to the Constitution of Pakistan and existing and established legal procedures, the trial of the planners, instigators, abettors, and perpetrators involved in the May 9 tragedy has begun under the Pakistan Army Act and the Official Secret Act.
The army chief told the garrison officers and soldiers at Corps Headquarters in Lahore on Saturday that the army gets its strength from the people and that any attempt to drive a wedge between the army and the people of Pakistan is an act against the state that is neither tolerable nor condonable under any circumstances.
The Chief of Army Staff put a wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and paid his respects to the Shuhada, who gave their lives in defense of their country, according to a statement released by the military’s media wing.
While touring Jinnah House and an army installation that was both stormed and vandalized by politically motivated rioters on May 9, the army commander was briefed on the events of that day.
Gen. Asim told the troops, “Hostile and inimical forces and their abettors have been trying hard to create confusion through fake news and propaganda, but all such designs of the enemy will be defeated with the support of the nation, InshAllah.”
After thereafter, the COAS went to Services Hospital in Lahore to check on DIG Ali Nasir Rizvi, who was hurt when political extremists attacked police on May 9.
The COAS also met with police officials during his time at Qurban Lines, where he paid tribute to the police Shuhada, praised their professionalism and restraint during the riots/vandalism, and pledged the full support of the army in helping to improve law enforcement agencies’ capacity through intelligence sharing, training, and equipment.
