Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir said Saturday in KAKUL that the military has the “will, capability, and capacity” to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and that troops “don’t get fascinated with the numbers or resources of their adversaries.”

We know what needs to be done to defend our nation’s independence and sovereignty, and we have the resources to achieve it. Gen. Asim, speaking at the graduation ceremony for the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, promised the people of Pakistan that “we will never hesitate in rendering any and every sacrifice necessary for the defense of our sacred motherland.”

These cadets were from the 66th Integrated Course, the 6th Basic Military Training Course, the 21st Lady Cadet Course, and the 147th PMA Long Course.

According to the head of the armed forces, the Pakistani people are the backbone of the country. “First and foremost is loyalty to the state of Pakistan and dedication to the role entrusted to the armed forces of Pakistan by the constitution.”

Nothing is more important to us than the well-being of our people, and protecting our homeland is a holy duty. Get out there and live up to the COAS’s high standards, he said.

He went on to say that the army has internalized the Great Quaid’s ideal that people of all backgrounds and nationalities should be treated equally.

A military spokesman for Gen. Asim remarked, “Our efforts for peace should never be taken as a sign of weakness.”

Our enemies are making concerted efforts on several fronts to undermine state and social cohesiveness. In the words of the COAS, “there is no room for spoilers of our hard-earned peace.”

The need to know who the visible and invisible foes are is pressing. In this respect, reality and deceit must be distinguishable.

Our enemies are determined to sow discord between the civilian population and the military forces, he continued.

The head of the Pakistani military swore that the strong relationship between the military and the Pakistani people will be maintained and strengthened. “Afghanistan’s stability, security, and peace are still crucial to our safety.

“We will continue to provide political, moral, and diplomatic support to our Kashmiri brothers,” the COAS stated.

“Pakistan wholeheartedly stands with its Kashmiri brethren in their historic battle for basic human rights and the genuine desire for the right to self-determination. Without a fair and peaceful settlement to the Kashmir issue, he continued, “regional peace will forever remain elusive.”

The COAS continued by saying that peace and security in Afghanistan were still crucial to the safety of Pakistan.

During a press conference on the Kashmir conflict, the army chief said, “We will continue to provide political, moral, and diplomatic support to our Kashmiri brothers.”

A just and peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue is essential for lasting peace in the region, and the international community must recognize this.

To the graduating cadets, their families, and their instructors, the COAS added, “The PMA has remained the cradle of leadership and centre of excellence for cadets joining this premier institution from within and across the world.”

According to Pakistan’s army chief, “today’s parade yet again proves the professionalism, superior ethos, and glorious traditions of the academy and Pakistan Army alike.”

General Asim exhorted the recruits to keep their sights on the goals set by their country and their allies.

The ISPR claims that the graduating class also included cadets from Palestine, Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar, and Sri Lanka.

Gen Asim, the event’s guest of honor, surveyed the procession and presented medals to the best cadets.

Academy Senior Under Officer Abdullah Bin Tariq received the prestigious sword of honor, while Battalion Senior Under Officer Ali Amir of the 147th PMA Long Course received the President’s Gold medal.

ISPR added that Sri Lankan Battalion Sports Sergeant Pasindu Dayananda had been given the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Overseas Gold Medal.

Course Sergeant Major Fatima Khalid of the 21st Lady Cadet Course, Course Under Officer Salman Khan of the 6th Basic Military Training Course, and Course Under Officer Adil Ali of the 66th Integrated Course all received commandant canes.
