ISLAMABAD: After Maulana Abdul Shakoor, the federal minister for religious affairs, passed away in a car accident in Islamabad the previous day, a lawsuit was filed against a Hilux Revo driver on Sunday.
According to reports, Shakoor was traveling from Marriott to Secretariat Chowk when a Hilux Revo pulling five persons over struck his car.
Shakoor was transferred to Polyclinic Hospital, the spokeswoman had stated, but tragically, he had died from his wounds.
Senior police officers had arrived on the site, and they were taking charge of the accident-related car and its occupants.
The late minister’s burial prayer was scheduled to be recited on Sunday at 2 PM at Tajbi Khel in the Lakki Marwat area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, according to JUI-F’s media cell.
JUI Haji Qudratullah filed a first information report (FIR) with the Secretariat police station regarding his complaint of unintentional homicide, excessive speeding, and vehicle damage.
According to the FIR, the Minister for Religious Affairs, Maulana Abdul Shakoor, visited my home for Iftar and left for Parliament Lodges Number Seven at 8:22 following Iftar.
According to the police report, a Toyota Hilux “hit Maulana’s car with negligence, carelessness, and high speed while on the way, in which Maulana Abdul Shakoor died on the spot.”
The incident is of a very sensitive nature, and Qudratullah has emphasized that it should be thoroughly probed. The collision entirely wrecked the minister’s automobile.
Police have opened an inquiry after filing a report, according to SHO Secretary Nadeem Tahir. He promised that “the matter will be thoroughly investigated.”
