Fawad alleges that the father of a deceased PTI worker was “abducted.” The PTI leader believes that the declaration of “forgiveness” from Bilal’s family will be made public very soon.

Fawad Chaudhry, senior vice president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), asserted on Friday that Ali Bilal’s father was kidnapped following his funeral while other family members were being held by the police.

Fawad shared the news on Twitter and cited the PTI’s legal division as his source. In his words, “a video will be released from police custody indicating that we [Bilal’s family] forgive Mohsin Naqvi and the police.” He voiced concern that Bilal’s case will follow in the footsteps of many others. Yet, “this country will not forget,” the former minister emphasised.

The PTI alleges that Ali Bilal, better known to his fellow party members as Zil-e-Shah, died as a result of police brutality and torture on Wednesday when security forces cracked down on protesting party members and supporters in front of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s home in Zaman Park.

To kick off its election campaign, the previous ruling party planned a rally from Zaman Park to Data Darbar. But, once police entered Zaman Park to stop the protesters from moving closer to Mall Road, violence broke out. Both sides posted videos of the skirmishes on social media, in which police were shown using force against PTI employees and collecting up a number of protesters. In several videos, PTI employees may also be seen using violence, like as vandalising police cars and assaulting police officers.

The party employee’s death was announced by the PTI leader via social media. Imran stated on Twitter that Ali Bilal was not armed and that the Punjab police had killed him.
