UK minister’s statements ‘misleading’: FO
The Home Secretary, according to a spokesperson, does not take into account structural racism or the ghettoization of areas.

ISLAMABAD:

On Wednesday, Pakistan expressed outrage at comments made by a British politician in which he singled out British-Pakistani males and said that their cultural beliefs were incompatible with British ideals.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, a spokesman for the Foreign Office, described Suella Braverman’s comments as “a deceptive image signaling the aim to target and punish British-Pakistanis differently” during the weekly press conference.

Comments made by Braverman against guys from Britain and Pakistan drew criticism. The home secretary said that British-Pakistani males “hold cultural ideals at clash with British principles” in an interview with Sky News.

White English girls, often in foster care or in difficult situations, are being chased, raped, drugged, and hurt by gangs of British-Pakistani males who have worked in child abuse rings or networks, the UK minister stated when discussing efforts to combat child abuse.

But, the spokesman, the British home secretary, had “misrepresented the community as a whole by incorrectly branding illegal behavior of specific individuals.”

We consider these comments to be harmful, prejudiced, and xenophobic, she added.

“Her comment portrays a very false picture and suggests that British Pakistanis are the subject of discrimination. The home secretary has wrongly labeled the criminal behavior of certain people as a representative of the entire community by making these uncalled-for statements.”

Baloch said, “She neglects to acknowledge the enormous cultural, economic, and political contributions that British-Pakistanis continue to make in British society and fails to take note of the systemic racism and ghettoization of communities.

Muslim-on-Muslim violence in India

The spokesman, in the meantime, voiced grave worry on the increase in incidences of violence against Muslims in India.

“At least eight states in India reported anti-Muslim violence on this Ram Navami, as hardline groups held public demonstrations to mark the holiday. Many mosques and other structures owned by Muslims came under attack. Almost 4500 volumes, including the Holy Quran, were destroyed as a result of a seminary fire in Bihar’s Nalanda district, she informed reporters.

The spokesman said, “The appalling increase in Islamophobic and hateful crimes against Muslims in India is a result of the pursuit of a majoritarian Hindutva goal and anti-Islam and anti-Muslim discourse widespread in Indian politics.

She appreciated the OIC’s statement expressing its worry over the increase in anti-Muslim incidents in India and urging India to firmly punish extremists for inciting intergroup conflict and hatred toward Muslims.

India must take concrete actions to stop the spread of Islamophobia, prevent Muslims from being persecuted for practicing their faith, and punish those accountable.

We are once again concerned for the security and health of Kashmiri leaders and human rights advocates who are detained in jails across India and IIOJK.
