ISLAMABAD: Prior to the Senate elections, the PTI has chosen to have party lawmakers swear a “oath of loyalty.”
The party’s members in the National Assembly and the provincial legislatures of Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa—which have since combined to form the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC)—would swear allegiance outside the PTI founding chairman’s cell at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.

The MPAs in Punjab and K-P who have been contacted by the party leadership have been informed about the oath and the upcoming protest outside Adiala Jail.

The parliamentarians from the party will be participating in the Adiala Jail protest; a time and date will likely be revealed soon.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of the PTI, has also given directives regarding the planning of the Adiala Jail demonstration.

Stamp sheets will be used to take the oath of allegiance.

Additionally, the Indiala Jail will receive a summons from the Insaf Students Federation (ISF).

The purpose of the protest is to demand Imran’s release, the retraction of the “fake” cases against him, and an end to the alleged election manipulation.

A day earlier, an appellate panel approved the nomination documents of and overturned the returning officer’s orders.

Murad Saeed, Khurram Zeeshan, and Azam Swati, who have received support from the PTI, will be able to run for the Senate on April 2.

Additionally, it confirmed that the papers submitted by PTI-backed Azhar Mashwani, JUI-F’s Dilawar Khan and Shazia, and PPP’s Rubina Khalid, Fida Mohammad Khan, and Qaizar Khan will be accepted for the upper chamber of parliament elections.

A crisis was created in December of last year when the ECP decided to refuse the PTI its electoral symbol on technical grounds. The Supreme Court subsequently affirmed this decision. However, in the general polls conducted on February 8, the PTI-endorsed candidates managed the electoral struggle as independents without a symbol.

The NA will meet on April 1st in order to prepare for the much awaited election of 48 Senate seats.

In a casual conversation with reporters during an Adiala Jail hearing, Imran asserted that the current administration would fall apart in five or six months.

As per political observers, the former premier’s conviction that the current government will fall within six months was based on a realistic evaluation and strong grounds. He believed that the government lacked constitutional credibility and moral credibility.
