The transfer order of the former Lahore CCPO has been suspended by the Supreme Court.
Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has been restored to his position as CCPO of Lahore.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court reinstated Ghulam Mehmood Dogar as the Lahore CCPO on Friday after suspending the order to transfer the former Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO).
Judge Ijaz-ul-Ahsan presided over a three-person panel that heard the case involving Dogar’s transfer.
Last month, the interim chief minister of Punjab named Bilal Siddique Kamyana as the CCPO for Lahore and directed Dogar, known as “PTI’s blue-eyed officer,” to be transferred.
The PML-N praises senior police officer Kamyana, but the PTI fears him since he crushed the PTI’s long march to Islamabad in May of last year.
In reference to the transfer decision for Dogar, the court stated that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had verbally granted permission to a request.
The chief election commissioner (CEC) does not have the authority to impose transfers, according to the court, which also noted that the ECP did not give the CEC a written delegation of its authority.
“Who made the transfer request over the phone to the chief election commissioner?” Questioning of Justice Muneeb Akhtar.
He continued by saying that the person ought to have been advised to exercise patience while the ECP deliberated the plea.
Judge Muneeb further questioned how the CEC was acting as the head of the electoral body while making judgements.
Also, the ECP’s request for more time to submit records on transfer postings was denied by the top court.
Judge Muneeb said, “The clock is ticking, tick, tick, tick. With reference to the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly, he continued, “Ninety days are about to expire and the election commission is seeking for extra time. The Constitution demands holding elections within 90 days after an assembly’s dissolution.
The commission’s responsibility is to conduct fair elections, and Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan observed that “they are even asking for additional time for that.”
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court Bar Association’s (IHCBA) appeal for a ruling on the case for Punjab elections was denied.
Judge Ahsan stated, “The only matter before us is the transfer case of the Lahore CCPO,” noting that the Punjab election delay issue has already been forwarded to the top court of Pakistan.
