NEW DELHI: On Wednesday morning, a shooting incident at a military post in the Indian border state of Punjab resulted in the deaths of four army troops, according to officials. They said that a hunt for the shooters was ongoing.
According to a defence insider who declined to be named due to the sensitivity of the situation, there were an undetermined number of shooters at the Bathinda military post who had ammo on them.
According to a top police official in Punjab, S.P.S. Parmar, the incident “not a terror attack” and occurred at a canteen.

The military post, which is located roughly 280 kilometres (175 miles) northwest of New Delhi, primarily accommodates military families.
