Bushra Bibi, ex-first lady and Imran Khan’s ex-wife, has warned caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that they will be held accountable if an operation is conducted at the Zaman Park residence over the Eidul Fitr holidays. LAHORE ‘.

Articles 9, 14, 15, 16, and 17 of the Constitution were cited as Bushra’s legal basis for requesting the PM and CM “refrain the authorities from conducting any operation without adopting the due process of law” in a nine-page letter delivered through her lawyer Azhar Siddique.

The letter alludes to an incident on March 18 while Imran was travelling from Lahore to Islamabad for court.

It went on to say that a court order necessitated a “platoon of officers” to carry out the raid without any female officers present.

The letter explained that Bushra had addressed the CM and PM out of “serious apprehension” that the police were planning another operation over the EidulFitr holidays, despite the fact that she had been working on the “rehabilitation” of Zaman Park since the last raid.

She forewarned the CM and PM that carrying out the operation would be illegal under paragraphs 10-A, 4 and 5.

The letter continued, “Furthermore, if any such operation is carried out at Zaman Park, Lahore or at any nearby place, the prime minister, chief minister, and other officer(s) would be held responsible and appropriate actions or remedies shall be taken in due course of law and this representation(s) may be considered as a warning against taking any action in violation of fundamental rights which are in the negation of Article 10-A read with articles 4 & 5 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”

Bushra had filed a plea with the Lahore High Court (LHC) the day before to “halt expected police action” near Zaman Park, but the LHC rejected the case.

Bushra has named the Department of the Interior, the Inspector General of Police for the Province of Punjab, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FIA) as respondents in his plea.

Imran shares Bushra’s concern that the authorities would take action at Zaman Park over the Eid holidays.

Imran told the LHC judge hearing another case this week that he was worried another “operation” would begin over the Eid holidays. The judge ordered the cops to stop “harassing” Imran.
