The “social media attack” on Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq was deemed “utterly reprehensible” by the Federal Ministry of Law and Justice on Sunday in ISLAMABAD.

The Islamabad High Court chief justice’s recent social media attack by a political party is despicable. In a rare, short remark on X (previously Twitter), the ministry warned political parties against assaulting the institutions of the country.

It is completely despicable for a political party to criticise the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court via social media. Parties on both sides of the aisle should stop targeting the country’s institutions.

The “malicious social media campaign” directed at the judge has been roundly criticised by the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA).

Justice Farooq is well-known for his persistent dedication to the ideals of honesty and competence, and he has often shown these traits in his unbiased and merit-based rulings.

“These relentless campaigns, driven by ulterior motives to tarnish his impeccable reputation, can only be perceived as a deliberate malevolent effort to undermine the stature of a distinguished judge and erode public trust in the judiciary,” the statement read. To put it bluntly, “we are resolute in our determination to prevent such evil intentions from coming to fruition at any cost.”

The bar organisation demanded that authorities take immediate and firm action against those responsible for the destructive propaganda and bring them to justice.

That “it is imperative that the true motives and the full extent of their disinformation efforts be exposed and addressed promptly” is from the report.
