Imran presses the PM on whether or not military personnel are “above the law.”
All the information the former prime minister has gathered “points to one powerful man and his accomplices being above the law,” he claims.

After Prime Minister Shehbaz criticized Imran Khan for “routinely maligning [the] Pakistan army and intelligence agency,” the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday questioned whether or not military officers were above the law.
Imran’s “routinely maligning and threatening [the] Pakistan army and intelligence agency for the sake of petty political gains was highly condemnable,” as expressed by PM Shehbaz in a tweet.
The repeated attacks and threats against the Pakistan Army and Intelligence Agency by Imran Niazi for his own political benefit are despicable. His accusations against General Faisal Naseer and members of our Intelligence Agency without any evidence cannot be…
May 7th, 2023 – Shehbaz Sharif, then-Cabinet Minister
It is unacceptable and will not be permitted that he has made unsubstantiated accusations against Gen. Faisal Naseer and officers of our intelligence agency, as Shehbaz has stated.
Imran responded to the current prime minister’s tweet by taking a screenshot of it and asking if he had the right to name individuals he considered were “responsible” for the assassination attempts on his life.
I’ve had two attempts on my life in the past few months, therefore I feel qualified to ask SS the following questions.
Am I, as a citizen, allowed to name individuals whom I believe were responsible for attempts on my life? Why was I not granted my constitutionally protected freedoms?
In a series of tweets, he demanded to know, “Why was I denied my legal and Constitutional right to register an FIR?” When the prime minister tweeted that military officers “were above the law or that they cannot commit a crime,” Imran questioned whether this meant the opposite.
“How is [the] institution being maligned if we allege that one of them has committed a crime?”
While the PTI was still in “power in Punjab,” the deposed prime minister questioned who was “powerful” enough to “sabotage” the joint investigation team (JIT) looking into the Wazirabad incident.
in order to file an FIR? What does the SS’s tweet imply about the ability of my police to break the law? How does it dishonor the institution if we accuse one of them of wrongdoing?
When the PTI government was in charge of Punjab, who might have possibly sabotaged the Wazirabad JIT?
Moreover, before Shehbaz’s presence on March 18, Imran questioned whether he could explain “why the ISI took over [the] ICT Judicial Complex” and why ‘ISI personnel’ were dressed as members of the counter-terrorism department and attorneys.
Asking, “What was [the] motive and what business did ISI have in the complex?”
Fourth, SS, can you explain why the ISI seized control of the ICT Judicial Complex the night before my court hearing on March 18? What was the purpose of ISI wearing CTD and lawyer camouflage? Why was ISI there, and what did they want to accomplish by being there?
He went on to say that if PM Shehbaz answered his questions “honestly,” it would show that “one powerful man and his accomplices are above the law.”
Then, he declared, “It is time for us to officially declare that there is only law of the jungle where might is right” in Pakistan.
All of one prominent man’s associates were immune to punishment. The time has come to proclaim that in Pakistan, the law of the jungle rules and might makes right.
Zardari issued a statement in which he criticized Imran for making repeated allegations against a senior army official, Shehbaz responded with a tweet of his own, arguing that such allegations amounted to an attack on the army.
Attacks on the military, Zardari warned, would not be accepted. According to him, the accusations leveled against the courageous and renowned officers of the Pakistan Army, especially Maj. Gen. Faisal, is an assault on the institution for which the entire country of Pakistan stands.
He continued, “This is the country where we all have to be buried; we will not allow one person to play with our values and our country.” Someone is trying to wipe off my family, my people, and my country, and we will not stand for it.
Zardari called Imran a “foreign agent” and stated, “I see the downfall of this person.” He also said that Imran was deceiving and lying to his “innocent workers.”
