Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, said on Saturday that he would begin a series of protests in the province of Punjab next week, beginning in Lahore and ending in Attock on May 14. He also vowed to continue his fight for the “supremacy of rule of law” in Pakistan.

In light of the current standoff between the judiciary and parliament over the holding of elections for the two provincial assemblies, the PTI leader attended a public demonstration in Lahore earlier today to voice support and sympathy with the Supreme Court and chief justice of Pakistan (CJP).

Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Mardan were just few of the other major cities in the country where rallies were held.

Numerous PTI members and sympathisers showed out, as well as attorneys and people from all walks of life.

While speaking at the Lahore rally, Imran said that “imported rulers imposed in the country” had destroyed the country’s economy.

Saying that “today, Pakistanis have awakened and come out of their houses to express solidarity with the chief justice of Pakistan who is standing for the supremacy of the Constitution,” he explained that the country’s citizens had risen to support the chief justice.

Inflation and unemployment have reached record highs under the current administration in just one year. Due to the poor policies of the current authorities and political uncertainty in the country, the value of the rupee has dropped by about 50%.

General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa caused more damage to Pakistan than any other enemy, according to Imran.

He (Bajwa) brought in these crooked rulers who don’t care about the country at all. Their money, kids, and possessions are all stashed away in offshore accounts. This is where they set up shop in order to rule Pakistan.

The PTI chairman criticised Prime Minister Shehbaz for travelling to London to celebrate King Charles III’s coronation while the country was facing a terrorist threat.

Six military officials were killed the other day, and on Thursday, seven educators were slain in Parachinar.

In defence of Bilawal, Imran

Foreign Minister Bilawal should have consulted first, Imran stated in response to questions about his trip to India.

You should weigh the benefits and drawbacks of a state visit before spending taxpayer money on it, he advised.

Foreign Minister Bilawal was in Goa last week for a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

The PTI leader stated, “India should have a little courtesy but should know that powerful never remains powerful” in response to criticisms made by India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar at a press conference.

“Though, Pakistan is passing through a difficult time, but by establishing rule of law the country will rise again,” he continued.

The former prime minister stated once again that holding free and fair elections was the best way to end the current crisis in the country, and that the PTI had given up control of the Punjab and K-P governments in exchange for a new mandate, but that the required 90 days had gone and the elections still hadn’t taken place.

Imran said that his party would not stand by while the Constitution was violated and that it would keep fighting for “real independence” for Pakistan. I will not be staying in until the Constitution is upheld as the supreme law of the land.

He framed their fight as a “jehad” for the “real independence of Pakistan” rather than a partisan one.

With the words, “I will start from Lahore and conclude in Attock on May 14, and will not take rest until elections are held,” the PTI chairman announced plans to hold a series of public rallies in Punjab beginning the following week.

With the present interim governments in Punjab and K-P having served out their constitutionally mandated terms, Imran pledged to rally the people of Punjab to support the rule of law and free and fair elections.
