PTI chairman Imran to appear in court on April 18 after his previously non-bailable warrant was turned into a bailable one.

ISLAMABAD: On Friday, a district and sessions court changed the non-bailable arrest warrant for former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the lady judge threat case into a bailable one.
Further Sessions Imran’s motion to quash the non-bailable arrest warrant issued by Judicial Magistrate Malik Aman was considered by Judge Sikandar Khan.
The court decided to cancel the non-bailable arrest warrant during the hearing and issue a bailable warrant in exchange for a Rs 20,000 surety bond.
Imran’s attorney said in a statement to the media that the issuing of the non-bailable arrest warrant was “illegal” and “unlawful.”
This choice, he said, was a triumph since it stopped the prosecution from “creating another scene” in front of Zaman Park.
In the case involving the intimidation of a female judge, a district and sessions court on Wednesday denied Imran’s request for an exemption from presence and instead issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for the hearing on April 18.
Imran had appealed the warrant’s issuance decision and contested it.
