In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the devastating rains have resulted in 32 deaths and over 40 injuries, according to a report released on Wednesday by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

In addition to six women, 28 men, and seven children among the injured, the deaths were fifteen children, twelve men, and five women.

According to the study, the downpours caused damage to 1,370 houses, with reports of roof and wall collapses in several regions. The remaining homes sustained partial damage, leaving at least 160 completely demolished.

Khyber, Dir Upper and Lower, Chitral, Swat, Bajaur, Shangla, Mansehra, Mohmand, Malakand, Tank, Mardan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Buner, Hangu, Battagram, Bannu, North and South Waziristan, Kohat, and DI Khan are among the districts that have been impacted by rains.

CM releases information about cash assistance

A sum of Rs. 50 million has been provided by Chief Minister K.P. Ali Amin Gandapur for the management of twelve districts. The purpose of the fund is to give the relatives of the departed financial support.

District Nowshera will receive Rs 20 million, Lower Dir Rs 5 million, and Swat, Malakand, Upper Dir, and Tank Rs 3 million each. Lower Chitral will receive Rs. 10 million, while the districts of Battagram, Peshawar, and Charsadda will receive Rs. 2 million.

The K-P government reportedly released Rs81 million to several districts on March 29 in order to address the emergency situation, according to the PDMA.

According to the relief policy, the money may be used for the victims’ financial assistance and relief efforts. The K-P government is giving the rehabilitation and relief of those affected by the rains first priority.

Chief Minister Gandapur asked the authorities to make sure that victims receive aid and relief in a timely manner and that destroyed infrastructure is quickly restored.

Emergency Room for Flood Control

At the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, an Emergency Flood Control Room has been set up in case the continuous rains cause more flooding. The objective of this program is to expedite coordination efforts with pertinent stakeholders throughout the province, hence enabling the transmission of information and expediting emergency response.

The control room is open around-the-clock and will quickly bring any urgent circumstances to the attention of the chief minister. The Chief Minister Secretariat’s Deputy Secretary (Governance), Mohsin Iqbal, has been designated as the control room’s focal point and in charge of overseeing efficient administration and prompt action in response to flood-related issues.

In Balochistan, seven people died.

The number of fatalities from rain-related incidents in different districts of Balochistan had reached seven. The occurrences happened in Balochistan’s Sorab, Killa Saifullah, Killa Abdullah, and other areas. After much of Quetta flooded, the provincial government issued an urban flooding emergency.

In all of the districts impacted by the floods and rain on Tuesday, government and private schools in Balochistan remained closed on Monday.

Following a period of intense rainfall, the majority of schools in Gwadar, Pasni, and other parts of the province were inundated, preventing pupils from entering.
