The Tirah Valley:
According to a Wednesday report from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), two troops from the Pakistan Army chose death after engaging terrorists in an ambush in Tirah Valley in the district of Khyber.
The military’s public relations office claims that forces and terrorists engaged in gunfire on Tuesday, killing two of the latter.
The ISPR reported that two soldiers, Sepoy Waqas Ali Shah, 26, from the District of Charsadda and Sepoy Basit Ali, 24, from the District of Peshawar, “fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom” during the heavy exchange of gunfire.
The terrorists’ guns and ammo were confiscated, and the area is currently being sanitized in an effort to eradicate any remaining terrorists.
“Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” said the release.
In his first news conference as director-general of the ISPR, the day before, the security forces were praised for their work against terrorism.
A total of 137 officers and men have been killed and another 117 have been injured in operations since January, and Maj. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has paid respect to them all.
According to what he had said, “the entire nation pays tribute to these brave sons and their families,” who had given their life for the safety of the country.
In addition, he had said, “No one should doubt the resolve, commitment, and capabilities of the Pakistan Army, law enforcement agencies (LEAs), and intelligence agencies to eradicate terrorism.” We’re going to keep fighting until there’s not a single terrorist left.
