Dr. Abida Sajid, an additional District and Sessions Judge, presided over the case.

The accused was released on bail till August 7 on the condition that he post a Rs100,000 surety bond.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Farrukh Farid has ordered the defendant to assist with the investigation and to attend at the next hearing.

The accused claimed in her bail plea that the FIR’s depiction of events was incorrect and that she was innocent.

Rizwana, the young maid, was employed with her parents’ permission, she said, and there was never any physical abuse.

To add insult to injury, the accused stated that Rizwana was at least 17 years old.

The defendant insisted on her innocence and claimed that she was the target of a smear campaign meant for the defendant’s civil judge husband.

She claimed that she had always treated Rizwana with the same kindness she offers her own three young children (ages nine to twelve).

Several convicted of ‘torture’ of child maids are sentenced to jail time.

She promised the court that she would help with the investigation and produce evidence of her innocence as part of her bail application.

Abuse within the home

An underage housemaid named Rizwana who worked for a civil judge was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Sargodha in a critical condition with what were described as “blunt weapon” wounds on her face, head, and body. The girl was also covered in burn scars.

Doctors at Lahore General Hospital were so worried about the teen’s condition that they transferred her to the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).

Hospital staff say she was admitted on July 24.

Rizwana was given a complete physical examination by the Special Medical Board when its principal, Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar, of Ameeruddin Medical College/Lahore General Hospital held an emergency meeting.

The physicians think the wounds were ancient, which is why the blood infection was so severe and how some organ issues occurred.

Media reports quoted medical panel members as saying the girl was having difficulty breathing due to a lung illness.

She had a pulmonary embolism and a lung infection.

Infection and clots, according to the doctors, were causing the saturation to drop.

Sepsis has been confirmed for Rizwana.

According to Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar, the girl was rushed to the LGH in a critical condition, and doctors there are working tirelessly around the clock to save her life. A special medical board has also been established to assist with the case. A close eye was kept on the treatment.

The girl’s treatment is also being overseen by Dr. Javed Akram, the Caretaker Health Minister, according to the principal.
