Kallar Kahar road tragedy: 13 people die
Due to its extreme speed, a passenger bus traveling from Islamabad to Lahore had a brake failure.

ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, when a passenger bus lost control and overturned on the Lahore-Islamabad highway around 130 kilometers from the federal capital, at least thirteen people—including women and children—died.
The passenger bus, which was headed for Lahore and belonged to the Shalimar Company, reportedly had brake failure as it was driving through the renowned Kallar Kahar salt range. On the highway connecting Lahore and Islamabad, the accident happened close to Booth No. 224.
According to the spokesperson, the bus, which had the license plate BSG-055, lost control, struck the maiden strip between the opposing lanes of traffic, and then flipped. He claimed that shortly after the incident, a sizable detachment of Motorway Police officers arrived at the scene and began a rescue effort.
The trauma center in Kallar Kahar received both the dead and the injured right away. The disaster claimed the lives of thirteen persons and seriously injured as many more. Four women and three children are among the deceased, he continued.
According to him, one lane of the highway was left available for traffic while two lanes were closed for the rescue effort. The official stated that the injured and the dead were from various regions.
