On the fourth anniversary of Operation Swift Retort, Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), praised the “resilience” of the country and the “resolve” of the armed forces on Monday.
Two Indian aircraft that had breached Pakistani airspace were shot down by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on February 27, 2019. Pakistan had one of the Indian pilots in custody, but as a sign of goodwill, Pakistan later freed him.
The airstrikes were carried out in reprisal as part of the PAF military operation known as Operation Swift Retort.
The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, as well as the heads of the services and the nation’s armed forces, all conveyed a statement through the DG ISPR.
He stated that India stage-managed a heinous attack on a fictional target “under the pretence of false flag Pulwama incident.”
The “daring, firm, and calculated response from Pakistan” that defeated the Indian “nefarious designs” was praised by Major General Chaudhry.
The DG stated that this day serves as a reminder that, while being a country that values peace, “Pakistan’s armed forces are ever ready to not only defend every square inch of [the] motherland but to take the fight back to the adversary, if aggression is pushed upon us.”
“Any illusion that leads to a mishap will always be faced by the whole power of the Pakistani military forces, supported by a strong country. Zindabad Pakistan! “Added he.
