On the day that President Dr. Arif Alvi announced the schedule of the Punjab Assembly elections, he made a suggestion to the political parties that they come together to discuss the problem.

The National Assembly and provincial assemblies should be elected on the same day, the speaker stated, in order to prevent future issues. As a result, it is crucial to gather and reach a consensus.

The speaker asserted that the educated class can help the nation’s plight, which he attributed to mistreatment and unfavourable messaging.

He also asserted with assurance that Pakistan will never declare bankruptcy.

According to Ashraf, the administration will accept the election date provided by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the provincial assembly elections.

The speaker stated, “I would like elections to be held on schedule; elections will be held in accordance with the Constitution and legislation. If there are issues, they can be resolved by coming to a consensus by sitting down.

Political parties, according to the speaker, should bargain to have all elections on the same day.

“It is better to gather together and decide today to avoid post-election difficulties,” he continued.

Following the Supreme Court’s (SC) ruling on the suo motu issue involving elections for the provincial assembly of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ashraf made the following remarks (K-P). Elections must be held 90 days after the dissolution of the assembly, according to the highest court.

In accordance with Clause (3) of Article 148 of the Constitution, the apex court’s five-judge larger bench’s 3-2 split decision stated that it was the constitutional responsibility of the federation to ensure that the government of every province was carried out in accordance with the Constitution’s provisions.

President Dr. Arif Alvi then accepted the dates that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had suggested, and on Friday, he declared April 30 as the date for the Punjab provincial elections.
