Rehabilitative services are provided for police officers’ children who have special needs, and the DIG has been designated as the focal person to coordinate with four institutions.
Punjab Police and four institutions have come to an agreement to work together to take steps for the rehabilitation of its personnel’ children who are physically and mentally challenged.
Dr. Usman Anwar, the inspector general of police, accomplished this by signing memorandums of understanding with the Hamza Foundation, Rising Sun Institute, Children’s Hospital Lahore, and Full Circle Institute.
DIG Organization The person in charge of organising collaboration with the institutions is Dr. Inam Waheed.
Anwar urged the Hamza Foundation to set up a two-week course in fundamental sign language for law enforcement officials, which will begin on Friday.
On this occasion, he also gave the necessary authorities the go-ahead to draught a letter approving the granting of driving licences to those with hearing impairments.
He advised removing the barriers to giving licences to deaf people who satisfy the established requirement after receiving clearance from the relevant organisations and medical boards.
After receiving clearance from the government ministries, the IG stated that comprehensive suggestions should be created through mutual collaboration to ensure that people with disabilities are given with every facility available.
Professor Masood Sadiq from the Children’s Hospital said the facility would offer all possible support to provide the best treatment facilities to the children of personnel suffering from any kind of mental and physical disabilities during a programme for the welfare of differently abled children of police employees.
