In a speech delivered in ISLAMABAD on Monday, President Dr. Arif Alvi stated that safeguarding the Constitution was the responsibility of all segments of society because it not only secured political stability but also the fundamental rights of citizens.
“In addition to the administrative authority, it is the duty of the state and its organs to bring improvement to the society through a system based on welfare,” he said in an address at an event at Aiwan-e-Sadr honouring citizens for their contributions to social welfare.

He cited UNICEF statistics showing that 27 million children in Pakistan were not in school, calling for immediate action to bring them into the country’s formal education and vocational training programmes.
He also stressed the importance of including the country’s 10% disabled population in mainstream society.
To deal with the expensive treatment of various diseases, including Hepatitis, AIDS, and communicable ailments, President Alvi emphasised the significance of adopting a preventive approach to health rather than a curative one.

Mr. Amir Ikram Ameen, President of NHSD, stated that his organisation was helping the poor and the sick in outlying areas of Pakistan by managing disasters, reducing poverty, and improving access to healthcare and education for women and children.
Badar Haroon, vice chairman of the Akhuwat Foundation’s standing committee, said that the charity has given out microloans totaling Rs200 billion with a return rate of 99.9 percent over the course of 20 years, thereby empowering the local population.
He stated that the Akhuwat Foundation had registered 2,000 transgender people over the age of 50 and was providing them with adequate medical care.
Syed Mubashir Ali Shah Banoori, the CEO of ACT International, has stated that the organisation, working in tandem with other government agencies, launched a number of projects to aid those in need during the current flood emergency. He also mentioned that agricultural rehabilitation and the distribution of agricultural resources like seeds and fertiliser were being carried out.
