On Sunday, Rashid Latif praised Imran Khan for his resounding and appropriate criticism of Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team at the moment.
On his YouTube channel Caught Behind, Latif lauded Khan’s in-depth knowledge of cricket, emphasizing that the former captain has a keen eye for potential and has predicted the future of other players in the past.
Khan is the world’s greatest cricketer, according to Latif, making his claim about the Pakistan captain crucial.
The comment made by [Imran] Khan sahab is really forceful. His knowledge of cricket is unmatched throughout the world. In the past, he predicted things about a lot of athletes, and most of those forecasts came true. One or two errors can occur. He follows cricket closely, though, so his statement was apt,” remarked Latif.
Khan recently praised Babar’s batting skills in an interview, saying that he has the potential to outperform his contemporaries.
“Babar Azam, our captain, is a superb batsman. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen a batsman of this caliber. Because I examine batting prospects through the eyes of a bowler, I have thoroughly examined him. He has outstanding technique, talent, and attitude. He possesses all three of these qualities, which are extremely uncommon in one batsman. He has the ability to surpass everyone, according to Khan.
Babar will continue to lead Pakistan in all three formats through the 2023 World Cup in India.
Babar was named captain exclusively for the New Zealand series earlier this month by PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi. As long as the squad kept winning, he indicated, Babar’s support would remain conditional, and Mickey Arthur would be consulted before the ultimate decision was taken.
The appointment of Arthur as Pakistan’s team director was made public on Thursday during a press conference. Arthur had finished a brief visit to Pakistan.
Arthur met with Sethi when he was there and expressed his support for Babar, saying that the star batter has the capacity to lead the team in the proper manner and that there is no need to alter the captain.
Arthur’s suggestion has already received Sethi’s approval. Babar will continue to serve as captain in all three formats up until the World Cup, according to an official statement anticipated in the next few days.
