Thursday marks Eidul Azha, a religious festival celebrated throughout the country with the customary ardor and enthusiasm of the people. The Hajj rituals conclude at Mina on this day.
Prayers for Pakistan’s safety, progress, and success were said at commemorative congregational services across the country.
In addition, prayers were said for the end of continuing conflict and corruption in other Muslim nations, as well as for the freedom of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In a message for Eidul Azha, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif urged the public to think of those who lost their homes in last year’s floods and to do what they can to help them.
He acknowledged that he was aware of the fact that inflation and a recession had caused prices in Pakistan to rise.
The prime minister also sent his best wishes to the people of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah on the joyous occasions of Hajj and Eidul Azha, and he prayed for the religious observances and sacrifices to be accepted.
According to Shehbaz, the current government is using all of its power to help the people.
The prime minister used the opportunity to pray for the well-being of Muslims everywhere, including their persecuted brethren in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the Palestinian territories.
The prime minister made the observation that the sacrifices and the conduct of Hajj carried the themes of peace, tolerance, fraternity, and adherence to the instructions of Allah Almighty.
He continued by saying that the true goals of Eidul Azha would be met if people fulfilled such needs via practical achievement and reflection on the significance of the occasion and the purpose behind it.
He explained that the event’s underlying principle was to demonstrate one’s sincerity and loyalty to Allah Almighty by the sacrifice of something dear to one.
“The actual spirit of Sunnah- e-Ibrahimi (AS) could not be attained without the equality, purging of oneself, purity of heart, and sentiments that resulted from such great sacrifice,” he emphasized.
Shebaz also emphasized the importance of sharing the sacrifice’s meat with those in need so that they, too, could participate in the celebration.
Eid ul-Adha is also known as the “Feast of Sacrifice” in honor of the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) to sacrifice his only son at Allah’s behest. Muslims now sacrifice animals to symbolize the prophet’s submission.
The prime minister had earlier explained that Eidul Azha represents sacrifice, equality, and compassion and that a truly observant nation must adopt a life of piety and cleanliness.
The prime minister tweeted on the eve of Eidul Azha, wishing all Muslims and especially Pakistanis living abroad a happy holiday.
According to Shehbaz, economic disparities are narrowed and feelings of compassion and submission to Allah Almighty are nurtured during Eid.
For him, “Eidul Azha symbolises the spirit of sacrifice, equality, and compassion,” he wrote.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement wishing all Pakistanis a joyous Eidul Azha on behalf of the Pakistani military, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), and the heads of the armed services.
That “Eidul Azha gives us a message of peace, unity, fraternity, and selfless sacrifice for the humanity,” the statement reads.
