The Frontier Corps (FC) camp that had been attacked the day before in the Muslim Bagh area of North Balochistan had been cleared out, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

According to the military’s propaganda arm, the attack resulted in the deaths of at least seven troops and a civilian.

ISPR said six terrorists “who were well equipped” were killed in the operation.

The military reported that “six more people,” including a woman, were hurt.

The “complex clearance operation” included the successful rescue of three families from a residential building, as well as the rescue of a hostage situation. “The terrorists had not even spared children of their horrendous approach,” the ISPR said.

The statement reaffirmed the commitment to conducting the necessary intelligence follow-up in order to identify and apprehend terrorists’ enablers and ultimately bring them to justice.

The ISPR declared, “Security forces, in tandem with the nation, remain determined to thwart all attempts to sabotage the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan.”

The ISPR said that in the early hours of May 12, an attack occurred at a security installation in Muslim Bagh.

Military sources have reported that terrorists have been cornered in a building complex in the Muslim Bagh district of Balochistan and that the Commander of the 12th Corps is watching the security forces operations taking place there.

“The security forces continue to maintain pressure on the terrorists,” the statement said, adding that “a heavy exchange of fire is underway.”

PM shares sorrowful news

The deaths of soldiers and a civilian in the anti-terror operation were met with “deep grief and sorrow” from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan.

The PM Office’s media arm issued a statement saying the premier has offered sympathy to the relatives of the victims.

According to Shehbaz, “the entire nation was standing with their security forces” in the fight against terrorism in Pakistan.

He wished the injured a speedy recovery and ordered that they be given all necessary medical care.
