On the occasion of Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day, Pakistani and Indian military swapped sweets at the Wagah Border on Saturday, a gesture of friendship and harmony.

As a symbol of goodwill and harmony, Pakistani and Indian forces exchanged sweets at the Wagah Border on the occasion of Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day.

The Border Security Force (BSF) of India and the Punjab Rangers made the kind gesture.
On days of national significance for both countries and on the occasion of significant festivals, it is customary for Indian and Pakistani military to exchange sweets.

This procedure is an effort to foster trust and bring peace between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

Even though tensions remain high, border guards from both Pakistan and India still engage in this friendly ritual on the occasion of religious and national holidays.

There were reportedly similar interactions at other border crossings besides the Wagah Border.

It was also stated that on August 15, India’s Independence Day, there would be a similar exchange of sweets at the border.
