Unknown assailants destroyed an Ahmadiyya mosque in Karachi on Monday.

Community leaders reported the incident to the Shah Faisal Police Station in the hopes of having legal consequences imposed on the perpetrators.
The event allegedly occurred about 3:45 p.m., as stated in the complaint (a copy of which may be found at The Express Tribune). About seven or eight intruders used wooden ladders to ascend the structure at the ‘Baitul Mubarak’ site, where they caused extensive damage.
They broke and ran from the scene of the crime.
Amir Mehmood, a spokesman for the Ahmadi community, told The Express Tribune that a police report had been filed shortly after the event. He said, “This is the 11th such incident in Pakistan this year, and the third in Karachi.”
He also said that no suspects in the city’s two most recent attacks have been apprehended by the police. “We have CCTV footage of the attacks, and police can easily identify the miscreants,” he claimed.
Mehmood claims that the structure that was the target of the most recent attack dates back to 1948.
A video of the incident shows a group of guys using hammers to smash the place of worship, with a ladder resting against the wall in the background.
“The government has utterly failed to provide security to Ahmadi places of worship in clear violation of Justice Jilani’s 2014 ruling,” complained Mehmood. Attacks on Ahmadi centers in Karachi have increased, but the government has taken little action to stop them.
