The judge accepts Imran’s exemption plea in the Toshakhana. Awan case, ensuring the PTI chief’s appearance in district and sessions court tomorrow.

Imran Khan’s exemption request in a case involving the Toshakhana reference was accepted by a district and sessions court in Islamabad on Monday, extending his release by one day.
The court, however, denied the former prime minister’s plea to move the case’s hearing to the courthouse building.
Supplemental Sessions The hearing in the lawsuit brought by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha was presided over by Judge Zafar Iqbal.
Babar Awan and Ali Bukhari, attorneys for the former premier, testified in court regarding the attempted murder case as it relates to the protest that took place following the Toshakhana reference judgement.
Tuesday will see Imran travel to Islamabad, Awan informed the court. Also, a request for an exception for attendance today was also submitted to the court, in which security precautions for Imran’s appearance in court the next day were asked.
The interior ministry has stated that there is a “fear of assault on Imran,” the PTI leader’s attorney continued, adding that “there may be a suicide attack on him during his presentation.”
The PTI leader will appear in court tomorrow, Awan assured.
Imran’s security should be the duty of the prime minister, interior minister, inspector general, and chief commissioner, he continued, adding that they will not accept accountability from anyone below these posts.
The plaintiff’s attorneys demanded the formation of a medical board during the hearing and asserted that the bond is null and void if the defendant fails to appear in court.
The plaintiff’s attorneys asked the court to revoke Imran’s bail, stating, “Imran Khan also appeared at Lahore High Court, is this not a court?”
Judge Iqbal expressed surprise at the request to reschedule the case hearing, saying that this is the first time the court has been asked to do so.
The judge declared, “The court must remain here; the court will not depart.”

The court next requested information regarding the case’s outcomes. The investigative officer answered that NADRA had been unsuccessful in locating the accused.
Judge Iqbal further asked the investigating officer to wrap up the probe by tomorrow and to give a written response to the findings.
While ruling on a number of motions, the district and sessions court denied Imran’s request to move the Toshakhana case hearing to the courthouse.
